No, you are not dreaming!! The famous Fort Boyard is really standing there before your eyes, off the coast of Oléron, in the middle of the ocean waves. The star of a French TV show of the same name, the fort is one of the famous sights to visit during your stay in our Residence, Les Alizés, on the island of Oléron. The sea fort has a long history. It was built in the early 19th century to defend a strategic point between La Rochelle and Rochefort. Later it was used as a prison. Today, it is one of the most unusual and most visited sites (by boat only) in the Charente Maritime area.
